The #NYC #TimesSquare CitizenM hotel opening was a successful alchemy of social brash blogger slumber party + cheeky traditional bell hop in front rival hotel + fun, funky art to - my favorite - 'no hotel cliches' stop motion video.

Topic to explore - Content Marketing

The questions:
1. What is content marketing?
2. How + why is it used by hotels and accommodation providers (e.g. AirBnB)
3. How does UGC  User Generated Content fit into content marketing plans?

Starwood's Aloft Hotels uses UCG via Instagram to 'socialize' the  hotel lobby.

Assignment:
  • Create a presentation using Emaze
  • In the presentation include:
    • Content marketing graphic that defines the topic (you can search online in images)
    • Answers to the 3 questions
    • 5 additional examples of content marketing - not from Marriott or Aloft
      • Screenshot + link to your examples
    • 3 examples of UCG
      • Screenshot + link to your examples
Hint - set up Google Alerts for the topics and you will have lots of materials to work with - it is a hot topic.

Every year CMH + Oneglobe organizes a Think Tank just for MBA 2.  A workshop style gathering of cutting edge businesses + startups who present and discuss their innovations.

This year the Think Tank is 17/02 - 10 AM to 4 PM.

Attendance is required for all MBA 2 students
Participation will be part of your second semester grade in Digital Marketing.

But you won't want to miss the cutting edge hospitality disruptors that will be present
